With high spirits and a clear focus on the field, Panathinaikos defeated the Dutch team Helmond (Second Division) in their first friendly match of the new season and their first match with Jakob Nistrup on the bench.
For at least 60 minutes, the “Clover” played at a very high (for this time of year) intensity, tried to put into practice on the field what they’ve been working on in preseason, and had Santino Adino having a very good day, who came on as a substitute in the second half and scored two beautiful goals. Taborda opened the scoring very early (6′), with Tetteh making it 2-0 three minutes later.
Panathinaikos’ next friendly match is on Saturday (July 4) against Ajax, in what will clearly be a tougher test.
