Razvan Marin appeared disappointed and frustrated in his comments following Romania’s latest 1-0 loss to Sweden.
Gheorghe Hagi’s team has been disastrous in these four Nations League matches, suffering four losses in as many games with a combined goal tally of 3-13!
“It’s a difficult situation—another sad night for us and for all Romanians. Even though we played a pretty good game, especially in the second half. Unfortunately, we don’t have any luck—nothing’s going our way. It’s hard to explain. We’ll meet again in November, and we’ll definitely analyze everything that happened very carefully.
Of course, we need to adapt as quickly as possible to what the coach is asking of us and do our very best. We’re national team players, and we need to take these things on board as quickly as possible. I’ll say it again: we played a pretty good game, especially in the second half. We created chances; we had possession of the ball.
I think Sweden had at most two scoring chances, and they scored on one of them. It’s hard to talk about this; I’m very disappointed with the results. There’s nothing else we can do. I don’t have an explanation. We have to move forward and work very hard to bring positive results back to Romania,” Razvan Marin said initially, and continued:
“I think we’ve all understood what Mr. Hagi wants from us. You know very well that he always calls for an attacking style of play, possession-based soccer, and then an immediate transition to defense, where we need to defend much better. I think our biggest problems in these games were on defense.
Of course I want him to stay. I’m sure he wants to continue working with us as well. It’s not easy. It’s a difficult and long road. We have to stick together and remain united,” the AEK midfielder said.
