Dimitris Giannakopoulos… weighed in again, following his first social media post regarding developments in European basketball after the meeting of the 13 EuroLeague shareholders in Como and the discussion with the NBA.
In fact, the owner of Panathinaikos BC appeared even more pointed and… specific about who is opposed to the prospect of an agreement between the two sides.

In a story he posted on his personal Instagram account, Giannakopoulos even… tagged the NBA, while also calling out Olympiacos for its overall stance!
Yannakopoulos’s message: “Players and coaches, fans, owners, and the leadership of European basketball. Together, we’ve transformed the sport we love into a competition in which the NBA—I repeat, the NBA, the world’s top league—wants to invest and make the EuroLeague part of its world.
With the utmost respect, but also proud of what we ultimately achieved (without Jordi), we must all work together to find a solution.
Positions like the one currently held by Olympiacos and two other teams show no interest in the development of the sport of basketball.
They still believe that success is measured by how much money you lose at the end of the season. “Basketball isn’t a game for rich kids.”
