Zalgiris: Announced the largest budget in its history

A record for the Lithuanians

Zalgiris’s budget for the new season will be approximately 5 million euros higher than last year, setting a record in the club’s history.

For the 2026–27 season, the Lithuanian champions are projected to have a total budget of 28.8 million euros, of which 19.7 million will be allocated to player and staff salaries. The net cost of the roster and staff will be approximately 13 million euros, while the largest contract belongs to Jonas Valančiūnas, at approximately 2.5 million euros.

Zalgiris President Paulius Jankūnas stated that the team’s budget is estimated to rank between 15th and 12th in the EuroLeague for this season.

Last season, Zalgiris finished the year with total expenses of 24.8 million euros, including 14.5 million for player and staff salaries. The club had initially projected revenue of 18.8 million euros, but ultimately generated approximately 24 million euros in revenue.

Zalgiris made significant changes to its roster during the summer, adding Jonas Valančiūnas, Sterling Brown, Carsen Edwards, Seiben Lee, Marius Grigonis, Marek Blazevic, and Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu, while players such as Sylvain Francisco, Moses Wright, Laurynas Birutis, Ignas Brazdeikis, and Mantas Rubstavicius have left the team.
