Developments are unfolding rapidly at Newcastle, as Bruno Guimarães has expressed his desire to leave the club, with Arsenal as his only destination.
According to “Sky Sports,” the 28-year-old Brazilian midfielder has informed the “Magpies” management that he wants to move to London. So far, Arsenal has not submitted an official offer to Newcastle, nor has it made direct contact with the English club. However, as reported, the terms of a potential deal have already been explored through intermediaries.
Newcastle’s stance, however, remains firm. Club officials make it clear that the team captain is not for sale and that they are not willing to consider offers for his transfer.
Guimaraes is under contract until the summer of 2028, with an option to extend for another year, and he has been one of the team’s most important players since his arrival from Lyon in January 2022.
His potential departure would be yet another major blow for Newcastle, which has already lost Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon this summer, leaving Eddie Howe to navigate yet another difficult situation ahead of the new season.
