A Greek Cypriot man and woman continue to be held illegally in cells at Attila, on the charge that on July 12, 2026, they crossed the Limniti checkpoint, without following the prescribed procedures.
According to the occupying “authorities,” the two Greek Cypriots were located and illegally arrested when they attempted to cross from the occupied to the free areas via the Astromeritis checkpoint. There, members of the pseudo-police determined that the required registration of their entry into the occupied areas had not been completed beforehand.

Alpha Cyprus correspondent Hatice Kerlo reported on the Alpha News program that the two Greek Cypriots were transferred yesterday to a so-called “military court” in occupied Nicosia, where it was decided to illegally detain them for three days until the completion of the investigations being conducted by the pseudo-police.
The investigating judge in the case stated before the so-called “court” that the two Greek Cypriots were arrested because they had not completed the “legal entry procedures” into the pseudo-state and had entered a “military zone” illegally.
