A housekeeper was arrested following a complaint that she stole 50,000 euros in cash and two gold British pounds from the home of a 51-year-old woman in Panorama, Thessaloniki.
According to a police statement, the suspect is a 28-year-old woman of Georgian origin who worked at the residence as a housekeeper.
As reported, the money and the liras were carefully hidden on the premises of the 51-year-old complainant’s home.
During a subsequent search of the arrested woman’s home, conducted in the presence of a representative of the judicial authorities, nothing was found, according to the same police statement. The investigation is ongoing, and the 28-year-old woman, with the case file compiled against her, will be brought before the competent public prosecutor for first-instance courts.
