New revelations about the tragic death of 31-year-old Brittany Clark are shocking, who lost her life after being attacked by an alligator while swimming in a Florida river with her boyfriend and roommate.

The father of the unfortunate woman, 57-year-old Robert, described the dramatic moments when he was informed of the attack, revealing that he was on the phone with his daughter’s roommate while she was still fighting for her life.

“On Sunday, I got a call from Brittany’s roommate, Jaden. She was explaining to me what was happening at that moment. They were trying to keep her alive while waiting for the paramedics to arrive,” she told the New York Post.

The attack

It is recalled that the 31-year-old was attacked on Sunday afternoon on the Econlockhatchee River in the Little Big Econ State Forest. According to authorities, an alligator approximately four meters long grabbed the woman, causing her severe injuries to her hands.

Her partner, Chance Allison, desperately tried to free her from the jaws of the massive reptile, struggling in the water until rescuers arrived. Brittany was rushed to the hospital, but she did not survive, succumbing to massive blood loss caused by her injuries.

Robert, 57, revealed that the family was already going through an immense ordeal, as his 80-year-old mother, Barbara, had passed away just a few days earlier.

“We were still trying to come to terms with that loss when suddenly we were dealt yet another unimaginable blow,” he said.

Particularly shocking is the account of the 31-year-old’s roommate and close friend, Jaden Hernandez, who was with her when the attack occurred.

In a moving Facebook post, she revealed that just minutes before the tragedy, the three of them had joked about the possibility of an alligator lurking beneath the water.

“There were bubbles inside the small triangle our bodies had formed in the water, and I remarked that maybe it was an alligator hiding there. Chance swam right over us to show us there was nothing there, and sure enough, there was nothing. Britt said she thought Chance was going to pretend something had attacked him, and we all laughed. It was just a joke. “And just a few minutes later, my best friend was attacked,” she wrote.

The incident has shocked the local community, while the authorities continue to investigate the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
