The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, expressed his sorrow over the death of businessman Nikos Siakolas in a post on the “X” platform.

Nikos Siakolas left an indelible mark on the business landscape of our country through his vigorous activity both in Cyprus and abroad, which spanned more than seven decades, noted President Christodoulides, among other things.

It is with sadness that I learned of the passing of Nikos Siakolas, a pioneer and distinguished member of Cyprus’s business community.

Nikos Siakolas left an indelible mark on the business landscape of our homeland through his vigorous activity both in Cyprus and abroad, which spanned more than seven decades. He was one of the largest employers in our country, making a substantial contribution to economic development and social progress.

Also known for his philanthropic work and his service to the community, Nikos Siakolas leaves behind a legacy of significant public benefit projects for Cypriot society.

On behalf of the Government and myself personally, I extend my sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.
