The meteorological service has issued a new yellow warning for high temperatures for tomorrow, warning that the mercury will once again reach 40 degrees Celsius. The warning will be in effect from 1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 20, until 4:00 p.m. on the same day. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Service expects temperatures to rise further over the next few days.
More specifically, a seasonal low-pressure system is affecting the region. Tonight, the weather will be mostly clear; however, during the early morning hours, low clouds or light fog may form locally, mainly along the southern and eastern coasts. Winds will gradually become variable and light, up to 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will drop to around 22 degrees inland, around 23 degrees along the coast, and around 20 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.
Tomorrow, the weather will be generally mostly clear, although after noon there will be locally increased cloud cover, mainly in the mountains. Winds will be mainly southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and later along the southern coast, up to strong 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will rise to around 40 degrees inland, around 32 in the southwest and on the western coast, around 34 on the northern coasts, around 36 on the remaining coasts, and around 30 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.
Tomorrow night, the weather will be mostly clear. Winds will gradually become mainly northwesterly to northeasterly, light up to 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slightly rough.
On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, the weather will be mostly clear, although locally increased cloud cover will be observed at times.
Temperatures will rise gradually through Tuesday and remain largely unchanged on Thursday, remaining above average.
