The ultimate summer dessert—easy and absolutely delicious
Ingredients
For the dough
200 g butter
90 g powdered
sugar 1 egg
350 g flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 vanilla bean
For the filling
600 g cherries
150 g sugar
30 g cornstarch
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 vanilla
bean 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
For the crust
1 egg
2 tbsp milk
1 tbsp granulated sugar
Instructions
Start by making the dough. Place the butter (at room temperature) and the powdered sugar in a bowl and mix by hand. Add the egg and continue mixing.
Next, add the flour, vanilla, and baking powder, stirring by hand as you go.
Once the dough is ready, set it aside for a moment to “rest.”
Now for the filling. In a bowl containing the cherries, add the cornstarch, granulated sugar, lemon juice, vanilla, and a little cinnamon.
Stir with a spoon, and the filling is ready.
Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough on a sheet of parchment paper and divide it into two pieces—one for the crust and one for the top.
First, place the dough for the base in a baking pan and add the filling. Then place the dough on top to cover the pie (pricking it with a fork to allow moisture to escape).
Brush with egg and milk, sprinkle with a little sugar, and bake in the oven at 180 degrees for about 35 minutes. The recipe is ready.
