Our country’s economy is growing at a strong pace—more than three times that of the Eurozone—according to Finance Minister Makis Keravnos, following the Statistical Service’s preliminary estimate regarding the economy’s growth rate in the second quarter of 2026.
In a written statement, the Minister noted that based on the data published today by the Statistical Service for the second quarter of 2026, it appears that the Cypriot economy continues to grow at a strong pace, confirming its resilience and dynamism amid a particularly challenging European and international environment.

“The Statistical Service’s preliminary estimate of 3.3% real GDP growth in the second quarter of 2026 takes on even greater significance when the corresponding growth in the eurozone is limited to 1%. Cyprus is therefore growing at a rate more than three times that of the eurozone.”
“This result is neither accidental nor circumstantial,” he notes. “It reflects prudent fiscal management, the stability of the financial system, strengthened investor confidence, and, above all, the dynamism of Cypriot businesses and workers,”, he continues.
“We do not overlook international uncertainties, nor the pressures that households and businesses continue to face. That is why we do not view these positive indicators with complacency. We are translating them into greater fiscal stability, new investments, more and better-paying jobs, and targeted support for society.”
“The prudent and proactive fiscal policy pursued by the government strengthens the credibility of our economy and creates the conditions for a more productive, more competitive, and more resilient economy for the benefit of our citizens,” he concludes.
