The Ministry of Defense will continue, with consistency and determination, to strengthen and modernize its defense capabilities, upgrade strategic partnerships, and further strengthen the role of the Republic of Cyprus as a reliable partner in the European Union and the wider region, Defense Minister Vasilis Palmas said on Thursday in remarks made after the conclusion of the military parade marking the October 1 anniversary.
According to Mr. Palmas, the State recognizes the contributions and sacrifices of all those who contributed to the country’s journey toward freedom and independence, while also honoring all those who, throughout the 66-year history of the Republic of Cyprus, have served and continue to serve with dedication and a strong sense of responsibility, its defense and security.
