Barcelona and Marc Bernal have reached an agreement to extend his contract through 2031, with a buyout clause of 500 million euros! All that remains is for the documents to be signed and for an official announcement to be made, which could very well happen as early as this week.
Just a few months after his debut with the first team and his serious knee injury in September 2025, Barcelona had already extended his contract through 2029. The 19-year-old midfielder returned to action on September 14, 2025, after a 383-day absence due to injury, having played in the first three games of the 2024–25 league season.
Last season, he played in 33 official matches (for a total of 1,313 minutes), while this season he has played in all nine games, logging 338 minutes of playing time.
