A car crashed onto a soccer field and plowed into a crowd in Wichita, Kansas, killing two people and injuring more than ten, according to local police.
Police spokesman Aaron Moses said that a black pickup truck plowed into a youth sports complex at the Stryker Sports Complex, running over people. He announced that a 6-year-old boy and a 35-year-old man were killed, while 11 injured people were taken to the hospital. Among the injured are five children, aged 5 to 9.
The van was driven by a 34-year-old woman, who was arrested and is being questioned. “She has been cooperative so far,” said the police spokesperson. Two minors were also in the pickup truck. Aaron Moses also reported that one of the driver’s children had a game at the Stryker Sports Complex, but not on the same field where the accident occurred.
NEW: Families came out to watch their kids play soccer on a Saturday afternoon in Wichita, Kansas. A pickup truck drove right through the game. Police say the truck jumped onto a youth soccer field at Stryker Sports Complex around 3:25 p.m., hitting multiple people before it finally stopped. A child and an adult were killed, and several others were rushed to the hospital. The driver is in custody, and two juveniles were inside the truck. Police haven’t said yet whether it was deliberate or an accident. Either way, those parents brought their kids to a soccer game and are now living every family’s worst nightmare. Please pray for Wichita tonight. Do you think this was an accident or done on purpose?

Police have appealed to anyone who captured the incident on video to come forward so that light can be shed on the causes of the tragedy.
Bethany Pope, the mother of a 9-year-old child who was at the stadium, recounted that she was watching the game from inside her car when she saw the black pickup truck. “The driver didn’t brake,” she emphasized, running over anyone in her path. “She didn’t stop until she reached the other end” of the field, she added.
