Kuutio Homes Pafos secured a spot in the “Giorgos Dimitriou” Men’s League Cup final, emerging victorious at the “Themistokleio” (1-3 sets) despite strong resistance from the home team, Anorthosis, in a highly intriguing and closely contested match.
Beyond the prestige of advancing to the final of this newly established tournament, this match served as a successful dress rehearsal for Giorgos Platritis’s team, as they tested various lineups and distributed playing time ahead of the crucial rematch against Mladost in Croatia, on Thursday, October 29, for the first qualifying round of the CEV Champions League.

The final of the “Giorgos Dimitriou” League Cup will be held on Tuesday, November 3, at the Pyla Indoor Stadium (start time 8:00 p.m.), and Kuutio Homes Paphos’ opponent will be Anagennisi Deryneia, which advanced without playing a match.
In the first set of the knockout semifinal, Anorthosis gave the visitors a tough time, taking a 14–13 lead and staying within striking distance until 19–20, when Giorgos Platris’s players managed to score five consecutive points by applying pressure on the serve (19–24), leading to the final score of 21–25.
The second set followed a similar pattern and had the same outcome, with Mauro Ross’s team putting up a fierce fight, refusing to give up even when the score shifted from 15-14 to 16-20 in favor of Pafos, as they managed to narrow the gap to 20-22 but were unable to achieve anything more (21-25).
Anorthosis had the upper hand in the third set and, with a consistently strong performance, was able to win it. The tight 13-12 score turned into 18-13, and the set ended 25-19, reigniting the excitement of the match.
The final say, however, belonged to Kuutio Homes Pafos, which showed greater focus in the fourth set, took a 5-9 lead, and from that point on did not let the margin fall below three points, sealing the set 19-25 with an attack by Eleftherios.
