Hundreds of families in Spain are going through agonizing moments following the tragic train collision that occurred on Wednesday morning (10/28) near Toledo, as they wait to find out if one of their loved ones is among the 68 confirmed fatalities so far.

According to laregion.es, young Eric, who was aboard one of the two trains involved in the crash, was reunited with his family this afternoon at the Santa Justa station in Seville.

A TV camera captured the touching moment when the young man embraced a woman, who is most likely his mother. The two embrace tightly, while Eric can’t hold back his emotions and cries. His family is clearly relieved that their loved one is safe and sound.

A little while later, after he had calmed down, Eric said, “I walked away on my own two feet. I left my suitcase on the train. I felt like I had to get away.”

Seville’s Santa Justa station has been turned into one of the main hubs for providing assistance to those affected by the accident. Areas have been set up to provide medical and psychological support, as well as information to the victims’ relatives.
