On Thursday, October 29, 2026, at the “Tassos Papadopoulos – Eleftheria” Stadium in Nicosia.

As Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kompos movingly noted, “The Foundation has quietly done so much for children and many people in need. John Christodoulou started from scratch and reached the point where he could give back to his homeland.”

The event was honored by the presence of Nicosia Mayor Charalambos Pruntzos, party leaders, the President of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KEVE), Stavros Stavrou, members of the House of Representatives and Members of the European Parliament, mayors and deputy mayors, members of the business community, children, young people, and adults.

In his speech, John Christodoulou stated, “I believe that everything starts with the family. Above all, our children. We must give them the keys to their future.” “We are here today at the Tassos Papadopoulos Eleftheria Stadium. That is exactly what I want: freedom.”

The event brought together over 5,000 people, highlighting the vision of its founder, John Christodoulou, to support the children and youth of Cyprus.

A special highlight of the program was the reverse-basketball contest, where 10 winners each won €1,000! €500 went to the winners themselves, and €500 to a charitable organization of their choice.

The celebration began in the afternoon with a Family Fair and activities for young and old alike, including creative games, crafts, and delicious food options.

The spectacular drone show lit up the Nicosia sky, adding a special moment to the anniversary celebration.

This was followed by an event hosted by Giorgos Davlas, featuring music and dancing. The evening culminated in a concert by Konstantinos Argyros, who got the crowd on their feet

Particularly moving was the moment when John Christodoulou presented the symbolic gift—a painting “Eleftheros” to Konstantinos Argyros, in recognition of his enduring support and love for the Foundation’s work in supporting children.

With a symbolic €5 ticket price and VIP seating available, the event aimed to bolster the Foundation’s initiatives for children.

The Yianis Christodoulou Foundation extends its warmest thanks to the audience, the artists, partners, volunteers, and everyone who contributed to making the event a success.

This 10-year anniversary marks a new beginning for the Foundation’s work, with a steadfast commitment to the needs of children and young people.

10 years of service. And we continue, together.
