The Cyprus Football Association’s (CFA) Grassroots soccer program for the 2026–2027 soccer season kicked off today.
More than 10,000 children ages 5 to 15 are experiencing the joy of participating in their favorite sport across 110 different leagues.
“Have a great start, and I wish you all the best. Know that while you’re here today, there are another ten thousand children playing soccer in your league. Remember that there are no winners or losers—we play to enjoy the game,” said CFF President Haris Loizidis to the children, among other things, at the kickoff of this year’s tournament at the Keravnos Strovolos fields.
According to the CFF’s records, 140 academies are participating in this year’s tournaments, and the matches will be held at 55 sports venues.
As in previous years, all expenses—including field rentals, district coordinators, referees (where necessary), and first aid attendants—will be covered by the Cyprus Football Association (CFA).
