Contrasting stories, but the goal… is the same! Today at 5:00 p.m. in Boeotia, Levadiakos hosts Aris in a very important match for Matchday 9 of the Stoiximan Super League.
On the one hand, Levadiakos has been the big disappointment of this year’s championship, as not only has it failed to meet last year’s standards, but they’re also in 12th place with three points and haven’t even managed to score a single goal. Ilias Charalambous’s team has five losses and three draws, the most recent of which was against Asteras in Tripoli.
The Cypriot coach has not yet announced the lineup, which will be revealed before kickoff; however, the suspended Elneny is set to return, while the availability of Kompan, Smelidis, and Gyöber remains in doubt.
For Aris, too, this match is a gamble, as the Thessaloniki team has not emerged victorious from Livadeia in its last eight visits.
The “Yellows” may have three straight league wins under their belt, but they suffered a narrow 2-1 loss to Panathinaikos at OAKA in the Superbet Greek Cup, where they put in a solid performance, with Michalis Grigoriou giving playing time to young players.
Aris is in 4th place with 16 points and aims to continue its upward trajectory in the league. As for the lineup, Uros Racic will be out; Hongla, who traveled to Livadeia feeling unwell, is questionable; while Moron, Manu García.
The most likely starting lineups:
Levadiakos (Ilias Charalambous): Elias – Manthatis, Tsivelekidis, Kornezos, Liagas, Vichos – Elneni, Kostis – Ursi, Popescu, Ozegovic
Aris (Michalis Grigoriou): Velio – Petris, Fabiano, Sitalo, Richards – Gare, Deli-Basiru, Jensen, Papasaraphianos – Kantevere, Kouame
