PAOK’s victory over Asteras AKTOR gave the “black-and-whites” a boost in both points and morale, but it left Alessio Lisi with a major headache ahead of the tough match against Olympiacos at Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium.
Jonjo Kenny was sent off in the match at Toumba and will serve his suspension against the Piraeus side, meaning the Italian coach must find a player to cover the right side of the defense.
Lissi was asked about this after the match and revealed two of the options he is considering, though he kept a third one under wraps.
“There are solutions. There’s Jakić, there’s Taylor, and there’s one more option, but I’m keeping that to myself. Whoever plays has our full confidence, and I’m sure he’ll play very well,” he said.
One of the alternatives on the PAOK coach’s mind is Aric Elustondo. The Spaniard is primarily used in central defense, but he is also capable of playing right back.
In fact, during his time at Real Sociedad, he made a total of 15 appearances as a right back, which gives him the necessary experience for such a role.
