Here’s what was said in detail:
Ricardo Sa Pinto (Paphos): “I’m satisfied with our players, as we did what we set out to do and secured a crucial victory. We found what we were missing, which was finishing our chances. We wanted the win with a strong performance; we’d been a bit unlucky in previous matches. The players showed passion and focus; I’m proud of the guys because they came back from a demanding test in the Conference League and got the result we needed. We got the job done; the players made the victory at home look easy.”
On the team’s attacking play in the first half: “Every game is different; today I wanted us to come out strong, create chances, and score goals, so we chose two forwards, who delivered exactly what we expected as a team. I’m satisfied; we’ll adjust our approach depending on each match.”
Fanzio Buijs (Omonia 29M): A bad game for us. Paphos also played a big part in our performance. We shouldn’t make such easy mistakes. We need to work hard, stay focused, and believe in ourselves more.”
On our record so far: “We’re happy with the 11 points, but against the top teams we need to be more competitive. We shouldn’t show them so much respect or be afraid. I’m not saying this to be mean. It’s something we need to work on.”
