“It is politically wrong for DISY leaders to embrace Anastasiades’ narrative,” says the Democratic Party MP

Appearing as a guest on Alpha TV’s “25 Minutes” program on Sunday, DIKO MP Chrysis Pantelidis reiterated the need for the Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General to resign, as they have turned the Legal Service into a mere messenger.

Rejecting claims that the process for electing the Speaker of the House has been undermined, he notes that following the election results, there is an obligation for all parties to engage in consultation.

At the same time, he refutes claims of a rift in the DIKO–DISY partnership and describes it as a political mistake on the part of leading members of the Alarm Party to fully embrace Nicos Anastasiades’ narrative. Finally, Chrysis Pantelidis makes it clear that the Democratic Party stands with Nikos Christodoulides ahead of the imminent resumption of talks on the Cyprus issue, while leaving open the possibility that the party might withdraw from the government in the event of further serious concessions.
