For the good of Cyprus, you should know that, as far as I’m concerned, no political party is more important than my homeland
Averof Neophytou spoke to Alpha on Sunday, expressing deep concern about developments in the Cyprus issue. While on vacation, he opened the door to his home and criticized the government’s handling of the Cyprus issue. Referring to the UN Secretary-General’s three-point set of conditions for convening a multilateral conference on the Cyprus issue, the former President of the Democratic Rally argues that the President of the Republic “does not seem to have understood them properly,” adding that “if he did understand and was mocking the Cypriot people, then that is tragic.” When asked whether he is preparing to return to the political forefront, Averof Neophytou left the door open, without revealing his intentions.
