In the new episode of Vital Cast, we’re joined by my Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coach, Eleftheria Christodoulou. Eleftheria is, without a doubt, the most accomplished Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athlete in Cyprus, with world titles and a spot in the finals of the ADCC, the world’s premier submission grappling tournament. But beyond her accolades, she has a unique personal journey. After studying architecture, she made the big decision to pursue her passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, living and training for two years in Ukraine—an experience that shaped her path. We were first teammates, and then I had the honor of becoming one of her athletes. Today, she is the Head Coach of ZR Team Larnaca, based at the Trojans Fight Club, while also organizing, on her own initiative, the Golden Pro Camp, a unique camp in Cyprus dedicated exclusively to women who compete in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. We discuss the sacrifices, the journey to the top, the challenges of competitive sports, her coaching philosophy, and her vision for the development of women’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Cyprus and Greece. An episode full of inspiration, authenticity, and valuable lessons, both for athletes and for anyone pursuing their goals.
