For the second consecutive year, the Pan-Cyprian Association of Cancer Patients and Friends (PASYKAF) and the Famagusta Leisure Center Owners Association – S.I.K.A.A. – are joining forces through the charitable initiative “Flavors of Love… Dedicated to PASYKAF,” transforming every meal into a meaningful act of love and solidarity.
This year’s event was presented today, Tuesday, September 1, 2026, during a press conference held at the Strovolos Cultural Center.

On Sunday, September 13, 2026, a total of 28 S.I.K.A.A. member restaurants in the Famagusta district will participate in the initiative, donating a portion of their daily proceeds to support PASYKAF’s services and programs. With the message “Every meal becomes an act of love!”, the campaign invites the public to choose one of the participating restaurants, whether to dine in or pick up an order, and to make a tangible contribution to supporting people living with cancer and their families.
The initiative is a prime example of how the business community and society can work together toward a common goal. The participation of restaurants in the Famagusta district gives the initiative particular momentum and reinforces the message of collective giving.
Vassos Xydias, President of S.I.K.A.A., in presenting this year’s event, stated: “For the second year in a row, the restaurants of the Famagusta District are uniting around a cause that concerns us all. We invite the public to embrace this initiative, visit the participating restaurants on September 13, and become part of this great chain of generosity.”

Sofie Christoforou, Deputy Executive Director of PASYKAF, highlighted the importance of the initiative and the power that social contribution gains when it is the result of a sustained collective effort.
As she pointed out, this year’s initiative takes on special significance, as PASYKAF marks 40 years of existence and service, steadfastly standing by those living with cancer and their families through free palliative and supportive care services and programs throughout Cyprus. At the heart of the Association’s services are always people and their real needs, with the goal of providing comprehensive and personalized care, with respect and dignity.
Ms. Christoforou emphasized: “Society’s support is crucial for us to continue meeting the ever-increasing needs of the people we care for. This initiative is not just about financial support. It gives each of us the opportunity to participate, in a simple way, in a broader effort to give back. The message “Every meal becomes an act of love” perfectly captures this philosophy.”
At the same time, he warmly thanked the Famagusta Leisure Center Owners’ Association and all its members participating in the initiative, emphasizing that their response is a tangible expression of social awareness. He also noted the important role of the media in spreading the initiative’s message and mobilizing the public.
The success of last year’s event and the positive response from businesses and the public laid the groundwork for continuing and further strengthening the initiative, with the hope that it will become an established tradition of giving and solidarity.
