“From now on, regarding issues that have been taken to court, it is up to the institutions and the judiciary to decide,” states Giannos Ioannou, Deputy Mayor of the Municipal District of Dromolaxia – Meneou, regarding the actions of the Mayor of Dromolaxia that concern him.
Mr. Ioannou notes that, on the advice of his attorneys, he is refraining from making public statements or engaging in disputes regarding the substance of the case, while expressing full confidence in the institutions and courts of the Republic of Cyprus and awaiting “the judicial decision and vindication through the procedures provided for by law,” as he states.
“Whatever needs to be said, documented, and proven will be presented where it belongs: before the courts and the competent authorities as prescribed by law,” Mr. Ioannou adds. He also reaffirms that he remains committed to his duties. “The legal proceedings will not distract me from this mission,” he says.
He also clarifies that this process is only the beginning of the institutional and legal handling of the issues that have arisen. “Following legal advice and guidance, a series of further complaints and legal actions will follow before the relevant authorities and institutions in each case, where my attorneys determine that the legal requirements are met,”, he adds.
