Makarios Drousiotis and “Santi” are now officially appearing as opposing parties in the notorious case involving a corruption and collusion ring that includes politicians, judges, and financial figures.
Following the first public written statement by the unidentified woman on the Cyprus Times website, the journalist-author responded via X to her appeal to allow an independent judicial review to trace the “path” of the notorious text messages, stating that “There is nothing on my devices regarding the messages’ origin, nor is it a secret how they reached me.”
“They were given to me on a USB drive and as printouts. More important than the route is the authenticity, the original source, and the verification of the messages’ content.” The final message attributed to Santi is ‘let the evidence speak for itself.’ I agree with her completely. That’s entirely up to her. It’s strange that her cell phone “went missing,” but there’s still her computer. The one that, according to her, “if it’s ever investigated, it will break hearts.”
Mr. Drousiotis emphasizes that, for his part, he is working toward this goal and that “the examination of devices and other digital material is underway thanks to the financial support of citizens, whom I thank once again.”
“The evidence has already begun to speak for itself and refute the police’s scenario and their own narrative that they fabricated the messages on their own and that their content is a product of their imagination. I cannot reveal more, since the police and the Legal Service, instead of investigating the case as they should have, chose to pursue criminal charges against me.”
