New ministerial decrees, which specify the necessary medical and laboratory examinations and the frequency with which they must be conducted for workers engaged in the painting of motor vehicles and for professional bus driverswere issued on Tuesday by the Minister of Labor and Social Insurance, Marinos Mousiouttas.
According to an announcement by the Labor Inspection Department, this concerns Occupational Safety and Health (Medical and Laboratory Examinations of Employees Engaged in Motor Vehicle Painting Work) Decree of 2026 (K.D.P. 318/2026) and the Occupational Safety and Health (Medical and Laboratory Examinations for Employees Who Are Professional Bus Drivers) Decree of 2026 (K.D.P. 319/2026).
According to the Department, the two decrees specify the type and frequency of the necessary medical and laboratory examinations that professional, support staff or other personnel performing motor vehicle painting work involving the use of chemicals that pose risks to human health, as well as professional bus drivers working in passenger land transportation.
The required examinations include a general clinical examination, as well as specific tests, such as a comprehensive pulmonary function test and a hearing test.
Laboratory tests are also included, such as a complete blood count, biochemical tests, and a general urinalysis.
The two decrees have been posted on the Labor Inspection Department’s website.
