He highlighted as crucial the agreements reached regarding the Union’s competitiveness. Reference was also made to the work carried out within the General Affairs Council on Cohesion Policy issues, where the Multiannual Financial Framework took center stage. Makis Keravnos was asked whether extending Marilena Rauna’s term was necessary.

Recovery and Resilience Fund
Regarding the funds from the Recovery and Resilience Facility and the absorption of the 1.02 billion that the Republic of Cyprus could have received, the minister stated that the goal was to secure the full amount. However, the country will not be able to utilize 36 million. Of this amount, 13 million is due to the inability to make the green transition, and the remainder relates to waste management.
