A 45-year-old man who systematically harassed his 50-year-old ex-partner was sent to prison; he was convicted by the Lamia Summary Misdemeanor Courton charges of repeated domestic threats, committed through persistent surveillance and stalking.
The court sentenced the stalker to two years in prison, and he was taken to prison to begin serving part of his sentence.

According to lamiareport, the 50-year-old woman stated in her testimony that the two had been in a relationship during the summer of 2024, which lasted three months.
After they broke up and the woman decided to distance herself, the 45-year-old man began systematically harassing her, following her to her workplace, and threatening her, her brother, and her children if she did not return to him.
The situation reached a breaking point last Wednesday (August 5), when the 45-year-old man was once again lying in wait outside her workplace, hoping to see her again and follow her home.
Frightened, the 50-year-old woman asked for help from a coworker who works as a security guard. The security guard approached the 45-year-old man and asked him to leave the area. At that point, according to the security guard’s testimony, the defendant pulled a pistol out of the glove compartment of his car.
Although it was later determined that the weapon was a fake (plastic) gun, his action alarmed the security guard, who initially restrained him and then called for immediate police intervention, leading to the arrest of the 45-year-old.

What the 45-year-old defendant claimed in court
In court, the 45-year-old claimed that his relationship with the 50-year-old woman lasted nearly two years, not three months, and denied that he had harassed her. He even claimed that he was at the scene simply to have a cup of coffee, and regarding the gun, he claimed it was a plastic toy belonging to his nephew that was in the cabinet and that the security guard attacked him when he saw it.
For her part, the 50-year-old described the moments of terror she and her family are experiencing, emphasizing that she even fears for her children, as she does not dare to return home alone from work without him being there to meet her.
The court was not convinced by the defendant’s claims and found him guilty of domestic threats in the form of stalking and of violating the firearms law, and sentenced him to two (2) years in prison.
The court ordered that 30 days of the sentence be served immediately, resulting in the 45-year-old being sent to prison, while he will serve the remainder of his sentence at the Court of Appeals, according to defense attorney Dimitrios Kroupis.
