Small helicopters are often used in the Himalayas to transport tourists, climbers, and supplies, or to conduct search-and-rescue operations. However, the extremely rugged terrain and unpredictable weather conditions sometimes make these flights very dangerous.
Thousands of mountaineers and hikers visit Nepal every year, the country home to 8 of the 14 highest mountains on the planet.
