The “Alma” Movement is moving full steam ahead toward elections—Citizens for Cyprus, as the party’s bylaws provide for the election of new leadership sixteen months after its registration in the Register of Political Parties.
Appearing as a guest on the Alpha Summer show, party leader Odysseas Michaelides explained that at the end of 2026, elections will be held at the district level to elect local committees, while in early 2027, a pan-Cypriot electoral convention will be held to elect the party’s president directly by the membership and to select members of the Political Committee and the Executive Secretary.
As he pointed out, his vision following the election of members to the House of Representatives is that “we organize ourselves to become a modern party, with strategic focus and sound internal procedures.”
“To modernize the country, we too must rely on sound structures and procedures.”
