Music by Moonlight: A nostalgic musical journey under the stars at Minthis

The Clubhouse Green Lawn was transformed into an atmospheric outdoor music venue
ALPHANEWSLIVE

Under a starry sky, with the Minthis Golf Course and the historic 12th-century monastery as a backdrop, the internationally renowned Roma Tre Orchestra, as part of its first visit to Cyprus, presented a sold-out concert at Minthis on Sunday, September 20, 2026.

Organized by Pafilia in collaboration with LaimTee Art, “Music by Moonlight” brought 40 Italian musicians to Cyprus under the baton of the distinguished conductor Christian Kunert. The presence of an international orchestra of this size is a rare event for Cyprus, lending special significance to the island’s cultural events. For one special evening, the Clubhouse Green Lawn was transformed into an atmospheric open-air music venue, where the melodies, the scenery, and the architecture combined to create a truly unforgettable cultural experience.

The evening began with an elegant pre-concert reception, giving the nearly 500 attendees the opportunity to enjoy the tranquility of the landscape, as the sun’s last golden hues bathed the surrounding hills. Amid this atmosphere, anticipation reached its peak until the moment the musicians took their places and the first notes filled the venue.

The concert took place as part of the Roma Tre Orchestra’s first visit to Cyprus, with a program specially curated for Minthis and its audience. The evening flowed naturally between masterpieces of the classical repertoire and beloved film scores, offering the audience a musical journey full of emotion, nostalgia, and new discoveries.

Works by Tchaikovsky, Johann Strauss II, Paul Dukas, and Amilcare Ponchielli were presented alongside iconic film scores that have moved generations. Their live performance by 40 musicians highlighted the emotional depth of these pieces, offering the audience a fresh listening experience of beloved and timeless melodies.

As daylight faded, the music spread out beneath the starry sky. The natural beauty of Minthis, the orchestra’s dynamic performance, and the historic monastery in the background created an atmosphere quite different from that of a conventional concert hall.

Following the success of the Minthis Music Festival in July, “Music by Moonlight” was yet another significant addition to the resort’s cultural program, reaffirming its commitment to offering the Cypriot public access to internationally renowned artists and high-quality cultural experiences.

The Roma Tre Orchestra’s performance in Cyprus was an evening that combined exceptional music, Italian artistic virtuosity, and a unique setting—an experience that will remain in the memories of all who shared it under the moonlight at Minthis.
