Pavlos Kontidis is in 6th place in the overall standings in the ILCA 7 class, following the completion of the first five races at the Los Angeles Grand Slam.
After finishing 27th in the first race—which is the only result that has been discarded from his tally so far— performed very well in the next four races, resulting in a significant climb in the standings.
In the second race, he crossed the finish line in third place; in the third and fourth races, he finished eighth; and in the fifth, he finished fifth.
In first place is Britain’s Michael Beckett (10 points), with Ireland’s Finn Lynch (19 points) and New Zealand’s Matt Wearn (20 points) following in second and third place, respectively. In fourth place is Britain’s Eliot Hanson (21 points), and in fifth, just one point behind Pavlos Kontidis (24 points), is the
Dutch sailor Duko Bos (23 points).
It should be noted that, in the ILCA 6 class, Marilena Makri, who has also completed five races, is in 20th place.
