The Municipality of Paralimni-Deryneia offers real-time beach updates powered by artificial intelligence, allowing beachgoers to check beach conditions before heading there.
The new digital service “Paralieslive,” available at paralieslive.com, allows residents and tourists to see in real time what’s happening on the beaches of Protaras before they even visit them.
Users can check crowd levels, sea and air temperatures, and whether there are any available umbrellas or lounge chairs.
The goal is to cover all 18 of the municipality’s Blue Flag beaches. The first six cameras have already been installed.
The municipality emphasizes that the platform operates with strict respect for personal data. The cameras are mounted very high up; they do not record video, do not have a zoom function, and do not allow for the identification of individuals, in full compliance with the law.
