The man known as “Entik,” the alleged leader of the Russian-Ukrainian Mafia, was arrested in Dubai, according to exclusive information from DocumentoNews.gr. An international red notice had been issued against him. Sources report that his lawyers have already launched a fierce legal battle to prevent his extradition to Russia, in order to prevent at all costs his extradition to Greek authorities on the extremely serious charges against him. According to information from DocumentoNews, Greek authorities were also involved in the process of his arrest.
“Entik,” along with an associate of Georgian descent, had found refuge in the United Arab Emirates in an attempt to evade arrest. His criminal organization, composed mainly of Greek expatriates from the former USSR, focused on the smuggling of tobacco products. In a massive operation by the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (DAOE) that began some time ago, 47 people were arrested, while the case file as a whole includes another 106 defendants.

Among them is reportedly a well-known businessman from Piraeus, who had previously been the victim of a kidnapping by a group of “Russopontians.”
