The Meteorological Service has issued a new yellow warning, as Cyprus remains in the grip of a heat wave.
The warning takes effect tomorrow, Friday, at 1:00 p.m. and expires at 3:00 p.m. on the same day.
According to the warning, temperatures in inland areas are expected to reach 40 degrees Celsius.

Detailed weather forecast
Tonight, the weather will be mostly clear, though locally increased low cloud cover will occur at times. Later on and during the early morning hours, light fog or mist may form, mainly in the east and inland. Winds will be light and downslope, at 3 Beaufort, and the sea will be slightly choppy. Temperatures will drop to 21 degrees inland, around 23 degrees along the coast, and 18 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.
Tomorrow, the weather will be mostly clear, though in the afternoon there will be locally increased cloud cover in the mountains. Winds will be mainly southwesterly to northwesterly and initially variable, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and in the afternoon, on the windward sides, up to strong, 5 Beaufort. Temperatures will reach 40 degrees inland, around 31 in the southwest and on the western coast, around 34 degrees along the rest of the coast, and 30 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.
Tomorrow night, the weather will be mostly clear. Winds will be light and downsloping, at 3 Beaufort, and the sea will be calm to slightly rough.
On Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, the weather will be mostly clear, though in the afternoon there will be temporary increases in cloud cover in the mountains.
Temperatures will not change significantly, remaining above average.
