An alarm was raised in the Larnaca district in the early hours of the morning when a vehicle caught fire.

According to the police, the fire broke out around 2:40 a.m., while the vehicle was parked outside the home of its 39-year-old owner in a village in the Larnaca district.

The fire was extinguished by the 39-year-old, who, however, reported the incident to the police around 7:00 a.m.

Investigations conducted at the scene determined that the fire was set maliciously using flammable material.

The Zygi Police Station is continuing its investigation.
