Police in Limassol arrested a 28-year-old man today, to facilitate the investigation into an ongoing case of car arson that occurred in Limassol on September 14, 2026.
Specifically, around 2:30 a.m., a fire broke out in a car that was parked in the yard of its 25-year-old owner’s home in the Limassol district.

Members of the Police and the Fire Department arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire, which had completely destroyed the vehicle; a subsequent on-site investigation determined that the fire had been set maliciously.
As part of the investigation into the case, evidence was gathered against a 28-year-old man, who was arrested today pursuant to a court warrant and taken into custody.
The suspect is expected to appear tomorrow before the Limassol District Court for the issuance of a detention order.
The Episkopi Police Station and the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department are continuing their investigation.
