The Cyprus Police will conduct a a law enforcement campaign aimed at preventing and addressing violations related to the use of protective helmets by motorcyclists, moped riders, cyclists, and users of personal mobility devices.
The campaign is part of the Police’s ongoing efforts to improve road safety and raise awareness among all road users.
Data on traffic collisions underscore the seriousness of the issue. Since the beginning of the year, 18 people have lost their lives in traffic collisions involving motorcyclists, moped riders, users of personal mobility devices, and cyclists.
During tomorrow’s campaign, police officers will conduct checks throughout Cyprus, placing particular emphasis on the use of required protective helmets. Special attention will also be given to other serious traffic violations, such as driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, speeding, careless, reckless, or dangerous driving, and running a red light.
The Cyprus Police urges all road users to comply with the Traffic Code and to exercise responsibility and extreme caution while on the road.
