‘An appeal to Minister of Agriculture Christos Senekis and Minister of Commerce Michalis Damianos to extend the permit for the use of storage facilities at the port of Larnaca for the purpose ofgrain stocks, in a joint letter from the agricultural organizations PEK, EKA, PANAGROTIKOS, NEA AGROTIKI KINISI, and EUROAGROTIKOS.
As they emphasize, at this particular time “there is an increased need to store products in order to mitigate the risk arising from the ongoing rise in prices as well as the risk of market shortages” and they warn that “without grain, the country’s food security is at risk.”
