Dimitris Giannakopoulos has spoken out again regarding the rapid developments in Greek basketball.
In a post on his personal Instagram account, the powerful figure at Panathinaikos BC referred to the 820,000 euros found in the home of one of the defendants, emphasizing that some people’s silence might be a sign of fear.
“Well, aside from the game, which is going well, the 820,000 is brand-new. Brand-new, numbered, one by one from the bank. It’s not like I won 200 euros playing backgammon, or sang Christmas carols, or anything like that. It’s been withdrawn and handed over—and that’s very important so we can figure out where it came from. In school tournaments, it’s rare to see that kind of money handed out—it’s rare even in the lower divisions. Now let’s see—this will be interesting. Also, at some point, I don’t know what the silence indicates. Fear, perhaps? Is there any? Or isn’t there?”, the influential figure at Panathinaikos BC noted in his post.
