Following the completion of the nomination process for the Democratic Alarm’s candidate in the 2028 presidential election, the party issued an official statement, confirming the validity of the nominations and paving the way for the internal process on November 28.

As stated in the announcement, two candidacies were submitted: those of Mr. Averof Neophytou and Mr. George Pamporidis.
“On October 23, the two candidates submitted the necessary statements of support for their candidacies to the Organizational Department for preliminary review. Following the completion of the nomination process, the Election Committee appointed by the Executive Bureau convened and confirmed the validity of the nominations.”
“Therefore, as decided by the Political Bureau, on November 28, Party members will be called upon to select the Democratic Alarm’s candidate for the presidential election, through an open and democratic process, which will be held for the first time in the party’s history,” the statement concludes.
