Tassos Douvikas will officially remain a Como player through 2031, having extended his contract with the Italian club for two more years.
The Greek forward’s current contract was set to expire in 2029, but the club’s management, seeing the 27-year-old put on magical performances, acted immediately, rewarding him with two more years and much better financial terms.
This is because Douvikas’s salary was around 1.85 million euros per year, and with the new contract, it will reach 3 million euros! In his first comments following the extension, the international forward said: “I’m very happy to continue my journey with Como. I felt right at home from the very first moment and immediately recognized the club’s ambition. I’ve grown a lot since I arrived, thanks to coach Cesc Fàbregas and his staff. This team is like a big family to me. I want to keep helping the team by giving it my all.”
The 27-year-old star is having an amazing season, with 8 goals in 11 appearances in Serie A and the Champions League. In fact, with his five league goals, he is the fifth-leading scorer (tied with Juventus’ Marcus Thuram), trailing only Varela (Monza) and Raimondo (Frosinone), who each have 7, as well as Krstović (Atalanta) and Malen (Roma), who each have 6.
