Every institution has a starting point. An initial idea that, when it meets the needs of the times and takes on a meaningful purpose, can evolve into something much greater. For the Lidl Wellness Camp, that starting point was 2020—a year that changed the way we lived, communicated, and took care of ourselves.
From a one-day online seminar to a comprehensive two-day event focused on knowledge, experiences, and wellness, Lidl Cyprus’s initiative has evolved year after year, enriching its content, expanding its partnerships, and bringing more and more people closer to the “Better Living” philosophy.
On November 7 & 8, the Lidl Wellness Camp 2026 returns for its 7th year at the St. Raphael Resort & Marina in Limassol. And this is a great opportunity to discover not only what this year has in store for us, but also the lesser-known moments that shaped its history.
It started online, in a year when everything changed
The first Lidl Wellness Camp took place in 2020, at a time when circumstances did not allow for gatherings, travel, or in-person attendance. Instead of being canceled, the idea was adapted to the circumstances of the time and held online as a one-day seminar dedicated to balanced nutrition and good health, as part of World Food Day.
From the Screen to the Farm
In 2021, the Lidl Wellness Camp took the next step: it moved from the screen to an in-person experience. The 2nd Lidl Wellness Camp was held in Agro on October 16 & 17, paving the way for the format that the public would come to recognize in the years to come: a two-day event filled with experiences, activities, discussions, and practical ideas centered on wellness.
It was no longer just a seminar. It was a journey of well-being.
“Food for thought” became part of its identity
Over the years, the Lidl Wellness Camp began to develop its own language. In 2022, at the 3rd Lidl Wellness Camp, the thematic approach combined nutrition, psychology, sports, and the environment, bringing together experts from different fields.
Well-being was not presented as a one-dimensional concept. It was already clear that a good life is not just about what we eat or how much we exercise, but also about how we think, how we care for our bodies, how we connect with the environment, and how we make more responsible choices.
It grew year after year
In 2023, the 4th Lidl Wellness Camp was held once again in Agros, at the Rodon Hotel, with more than 150 participants taking part in hands-on workshops, seminars, and activities. It was yet another step that confirmed that the Camp was not a one-off initiative, but an institution that was gaining momentum.
In 2024, at the 5th Lidl Wellness Camp, the event grew even further, welcoming more than 250 participants of all ages. The experience remained centered on nature, health, balanced nutrition, and well-being, but each year brought something new: greater participation, more themes, and a wider reach.
The 6th Lidl Wellness Camp, in 2025, was held for the first time outside of Agros, specifically in Ayia Napa at the Atlantica Aeneas Resort, bringing together over 300 participants. The program was enriched with cooking classes on balanced and easy meals for the whole family, talks on physical health, presentations on mental well-being and stress management, as well as a more accessible look at biomedical research and the role of prevention.
From an Initiative to a Recognized Institution
The evolution of the Lidl Wellness Camp is also evident through its sponsorships. Since 2020, when the first online LWC was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Environment and the Cyprus Association of Dietitians & Nutritionists, the event has gradually expanded its institutional base.
Along the way, the Cyprus National Commission for UNESCO joined the initiative, while in recent years the scope of topics has broadened even further, with the participation of organizations such as the Cyprus Psychologists’ Association and, in 2025, the Municipality of Ayia Napa, the city that hosted the event that year. This expansion is no coincidence. It reflects the Camp’s own evolution, which has grown from an initiative centered on nutrition and World Food Day into a more comprehensive institution dedicated to health, mental well-being, sustainability, and a better everyday life.
What does this mean for Lidl Cyprus?
The answer lies in the very philosophy of the initiative. The Lidl Wellness Camp was created in conjunction with World Food Day, recognizing that nutrition is directly linked to health, quality of life, sustainability, and responsible consumption.
For Lidl Cyprus, as one of the largest food retailers in Cyprus, the conversation about nutrition isn’t limited to the consumer’s shopping cart. It extends to knowledge, awareness, daily habits, and choices that can contribute to a better life.
That is why the Lidl Wellness Camp is not merely a corporate social responsibility initiative. It is an institution that puts into practice Lidl Cyprus’s commitment to providing the public with resources, ideas, and experiences that connect nutrition with health, wellness with everyday life, and responsible consumption with the future.
And this year, it’s taking the next step
In 2026, the Lidl Wellness Camp returns for its 7th year, this time at the St. Raphael Resort & Marina in Limassol, with a revamped program and an even more comprehensive approach.
This year’s event brings together speakers and experts from Cyprus and Greece, coordinated by Maria Bakodimou, with topics covering nutrition, mental well-being, the body, exercise, longevity, mindfulness, the microbiome, human connection, and conscious lifestyle choices.
From a one-day online event in 2020, the Lidl Wellness Camp has evolved into a two-day experience filled with knowledge and meaningful inspiration.
So, what don’t you know about the Lidl Wellness Camp?
That it began during a difficult year, but it didn’t stop.
That it was born out of World Food Day, but it grew beyond that.
That it has changed formats, venues, and experiences, but has retained its core essence.
That it doesn’t talk about wellness as a trend, but as a way of life.
And that behind every event lies the same philosophy: a good life is built on knowledge, habits, responsible choices, and small changes that can make all of our daily lives better.
