Jiri Pavlenka clarified the duration of his absence from PAOK’s competitive matches in an interview with the website of his former team, Werder Bremen. The Czech goalkeeper, after noting that his recovery is progressing normally following his surgery, stated that he will be sidelined for about three to four months.
“The injury, of course, makes things more difficult. Last week I underwent surgery in Munich, and I’ll be out of action for three to four months. Right now, my shoulder is healing well. I just hope to get back on the field as soon as possible,” he said, expressing optimism about a speedy return to action, and concluded by talking about life in Greece and what it’s like…
“Yes, life here is really beautiful. We get a lot of sunshine, and we love that. Of course, it’s a bit different from Bremen (laughs). The level of soccer isn’t as high as in the Bundesliga, but the four big teams—Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, AEK, and us at PAOK—have a lot of quality. When we play these derbies, the level of play is really good. Our goals are to compete in Europe every year and win the league,” he concluded.
