A fire broke out early Saturday morning at the Old Port of Limassol.
According to Fire Department Spokesperson Andreas Kettis, at around 4:55 a.m., a fire broke out in restaurant furnishings (seating equipment) in the restaurant’s outdoor area.
The fire and the resulting heat also damaged the store’s glass display case and part of its wooden floor.
The fire was extinguished before the Fire Department arrived by a security guard using a water hose connected to a permanent fire hydrant on the premises.
The Fire Department conducted an inspection and verification to ensure the fire was completely extinguished.
An investigation into the cause will follow.
