In response, the investigating judge stated that there is strong evidence suggesting the 61-year-old is no longer alive, citing a series of facts that have emerged from the investigation so far.
Specifically, as reported in court, the woman has not been in contact with anyone since October 21, and her cell phone is not transmitting a signal. Her dog was found malnourished in her apartment, and according to witnesses, she never left it alone.
At the same time, her vehicle was found abandoned as of October 21, and she failed to show up for an important business meeting. Furthermore, investigations so far have not indicated that she left Cyprus or traveled to the occupied territories.
When asked why the suspect would wait so many days to attempt to flee the territory of the Republic, the investigator pointed out that the 43-year-old had purchased a ticket on October 29, immediately after the police announced the woman’s disappearance.
During the proceedings, reference was also made to the testimony of a witness who reportedly heard a scream.
For his part, the attorney stated that the suspect would consent to a six-day detention order, while also requesting that the investigating authorities to have completed their investigations and be prepared to provide answers by the time the case is next presented before the Court.
The court approved the suspect’s six-day detention so that the investigation into the case could continue.
