It appears that arson was behind the fire that broke out in the early morning hours outside a restaurant in the Old Port area of Limassol.
According to the police, initial investigations indicate that the fire was deliberately set using flammable material, and authorities are investigating the case as arson.
The restaurant is reportedly owned by a businessman who has been the target of criminal activity in the past. Specifically, in a previous incident, unknown assailants opened fire on the building housing his business.
